Earlier this week, Fat Joe and members of his entourage were¬†briefly detained and questioned by police in Madison, Wisconsin after a woman accused them of “inappropriate touching”.

While the rapper and crew were released shortly thereafter and no one was charged, the public has drawn their own opinions as to what happened.

On Tuesday (June 22), Fat Joe (real name: Joseph Cartagena) released a statement, via his legal representation, vehemently denying the allegations.

Dawn Florio Esq. said that Joe and company were questioned by “members of the Madison, Wisconsin Police Department who were investigating false allegations made by a woman who initially posed as a fan and later claimed to be the victim of an assault after demanding money.

“At no point did Mr. Cartagena or any member of his entourage assault or have any improper contact with the woman. It is truly unfortunate that false allegations such as these cause the public to doubt the claims of actual victims of sexual assaults.”

The unnamed 33-year-old female attended Fat Joe’s concert on Sunday (June 20), and during the early morning hours of Monday morning took a ride in the rapper’s limo to their hotel on the west side of town.

Much later, she contacted authorities and filed a sexual assault incident.

At press time, police were still investigating the incident.
